 Volta Charging: AI Experiences

From 2017 to 2020 I led Volta Charging’s product team, first as a Product Strategy Consultant, then as the Head of Product, and lastly as VP of Product. My role was to develop the core product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the company — and leading engineers, designers, and product managers to execute on it. During this time I led the initial development of Vehicle Sense, a perception technology for vehicle recognition for interactive advertising, as well as an early version of PredictEV, a prediction tool for future EV charging needs in municipalities.

Vehicle Recognition

A project utilizing computer vision to detect and recognize the vehicle make and model pulling up to a charger. This information was used to target advertisements from automotive manufacturers. The product garnered millions in advertising revenue and is now know as Vehicle Sense.

Network Prediction

An early technology product exploration I oversaw for utilizing machine learning to predict EV charging demand over time. This information was used to optimize future planning for EV charger placement and energy infrastructure needs. This product is now known as PredictEV.
