Pencil description goes here.
This pencil is not a normal pencil. While it does have a graphite tip, the body is made of 46cm of solid aluminum rod. One can technically write with it, but the appearance and feel of the pencil is surreal and impractical. This piece creates a novel experience of an everyday task while asking to what extent appearance and function define an object.
Due to the unexpected size and weight of the pencil, users must adapt their normal writing methods. In this case, the user utilizes his shoulder to help support the weight.
Another method is the power grasp.
A third method is using the elbow crook for support. Whatever method is chosen, Pencil challenges existing notions of what it means to write and exposes the importance of tools in everyday life.
